German Succession - Compulsory Share Claim

Can anyone recommend an English speaking lawyer able assist with an estate in Germany (Bavaria)?

A client has approached me regarding the estate of his father who died in Germany 2 years ago. His father left a Will leaving everything to his wife and specifically excluded anyone else. The client has been contacted by the court dealing with the matter saying that, under the German Civil Code, he is entitled to claim a compulsory share of the estate.

Any recommendations of dual qualified lawyers based in the UK would be appreciated, however, any recommendations at all would be gratefully received.

I suggest you consult Richard Frimston of Russell Cooke - he was extremely helpful to me when I consulted him about a German intestate estate.

I can also recommend Jan Atkinson of Osbornes, 7-9 Pratt Street, London NW1 0AE. 0207 681 8678.

Jan has been extremely helpful in a German succession for one of the charities for which I act as Legacy Officer.
