A plea for help - can anyone recommend a solicitor to advise on correct completion of US withholding tax form W-8BEN-E by a UK resident and domiciled executor of a UK resident and domiciled deceased person’s estate? The form is a nightmare, and the IRS standard guidance notes unhelpful, and it seems a disproportionate compliance burden on an estate which has the misfortune to find itself (as a result of a takeover of a UK company between death and probate) with a small holding of shares in a US company with a US registrar.
