I appreciate we see a few questions about this, however, I would welcome members views on the following clause in a Will drafted by a charity:-
“I REQUEST that my wife X can carry on living in my property until her death”
The residuary estate is then left to other beneficiaries.
The wife is currently in respite care with a view to that becoming permanent.
Interestingly, the Will also contains a gift to the charity whose representative prepared and witnessed the Will.
