I have now had several cases whereby the Probate Registry claim they have not had the IHT421, cue long call to HMRC who of course confirm they have indeed sent it, they then send it again. Another long call or angry email to Probate Registry to ask them to look for it and process the application. Weeks and weeks of delay until you eventually get a grant.
I know that I am not the only one who is experiencing this. We should all make sure we complain every time - until we complain enough they won’t change the system. It clearly is not working as it stands.
