Release of Bank Account Funds without Grant

Am I correct in thinking that someone with the right to act as administrator but who does not yet have a grant of letters of administration should not enter into an indemnity in return for the bank releasing the funds without requiring provision of a grant? Firstly because the person entitled to be the administrator has no authority to act prior to receiving a grant and secondly because the indemnity requires confirmation that the ‘Claimant’ is authorised to administer the estate.
