10 Year Anniversary Charge - which forms?

I am currently preparing 10 year anniversary charge forms for a trust. the funds are held in a life insurance bond and are invested in various funds (eg AXA Framlington etc).

IN addition to the IHT100, should I be filling in form D32 - Tell HMRC about stocks and shares owned by the trust or transferor

or form D34 - Life insurance and annuities

form D34 does not look like it should apply to a 10 year charge, hence my dithering. It talks about the transferor or settlor rather than the trust itself.

Apologies if this is a silly question and thank you for any help given.

Welcome EllenM

There are now separate IHT100 forms depending on what particular event you are reporting. In this instance the form you will need is IHT100d which is for the “Relevant property trust principal (10 year) charge”. You will note that section A of this form asks for information about the settlor which is why form D34 asks for the settlor’s information.

A life insurance bond would be reported as such on form D34 I would think.
