Attorney Grant - death of one of the donors

X died intestate. The 4 beneficiaries entitled to X’s estate each appointed Y on separate PA12’s to act as attorney for them in the estate of X. Grant was issued to Y on behalf of the 4 beneficiaries. One of the beneficiaries has since died - the POA in favour of Y in respect of that beneficiary has therefore ended. Our view is that as the PA12’s are separately signed each appointing Y as an attorney, the Grant is still valid and Y can continue to deal with the estate as the attorney for the three surviving donors and the basis that the separately signed PA12’s are not a joint appointment, but joint and several. Do other forum members agree or do members think that the Grant is now invalid due to the death of one of the donors and a new Grant needed?

Any view most welcome!

My thoughts for what they are worth

Regardless if grant to Exor or their attorney, need new Grant

Same if grant to attorney and the Exor needs to prove, need new grant
