Court of Protection- TO proceed or not to proceed

We have a client whose daughter has no capacity. Father wishes to apply to COP to be deputy for Health and welfare and Property and Finance.

Daughter receives benefit but it goes into joint account with father. Daughter has no assets in her own name. Father spends his own money and the money received in the Joint account for the benefit of the child.

As she is an adult father wishes health and welfare COP as well due to if he needs to make any life decisions or medication decisions

Is it viable for the Applicant to proceed to apply for COP property and Health both.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Applications for a Welfare appointment are rarely made on a continuing basis. The Court prefers these applications to be decision specific.
