Deed of Retirement and Appointment - hidden address?

Hi, first time poster here.

My client is a co-trustee with her ex-husband in a trust arising from an estate. He has agreed to retire and another trustee be appointed.

Continuing trustee (my client) cannot disclose her current address to him. Can she be identified in the Deed of Retirement and Appointment without her address?

As far as I am aware there is no legal requirement that the parties to a deed of retirement and appointment are identified by address.

A witness must state their address.Apparently not a party though an address might help to identify them in the unlikely event of any ambiguity. HMLR’s PG8 updated 11 August 2025 is surely a reputable source.

If the Principal document clearly identifies the trustees there is no real likelihood of ambiguity that your client will have difficulty establishing she is the person who is named in the new instrument without the new address
