Directors as Executors & Trustees

A limited company cannot be appointed in a Will as executor unless it is a Trust Corporation. But can the individual directors in a limited company be appointed to act in their personal capacity without naming them ? eg “I appoint the directors at the date of my death in ABC Ltd to be the executors and trustees of this my Will…”

I do not see why not. I have certainly used a formula appointing any two directors of a named trust company (not a corporation) as of the date of death, as nominated by the Chairman of the company following the death. This was submitted with a copy of the nomination resolution and never (to my knowledge) questioned by a Registry.
