With reference to a HMCTS online probate application, can anyone advise how to get around the issue of not being able to give a UK postcode for the deceased (who lived abroad)? The form allows you to type in the address where you haven’t given a postcode, but then doesn’t allow to to go past the “deceased details” section of the form, saying “the deceased postcode cannot be empty”.
Best to type in whatever postcode equivalent the country has. If there is not one, you could use hashtags or question marks.
Following on form this I am trying to complete the online application where one of the executors is in Dubai (no postcodes!)
When I click the link to say I cannot enter a postcode it brings up the boxes to complete for the address but then later in the process it says that the executor post code cannot be empty. If I type None in the box it works but I don’t want that in the address on the Grant. Does anyone know of a work around?
I recently had one where the executors lived outside the UK. Ended up entering the country name in the postcode field and leaving the country field blank.
Thanks Eddie - that is where I had eventually got to!
