Inland Revenue property charge

Hi all -

My client is in the process of buying a property which has a charge

Notice of an Inland Revenue charge in respect of such inheritance tax as may arise by reason of the death of xxx in 2016

Does anyone have experience of how such a charge is dealt with in relation to the sale of a property?

Thank you

Surely it is for the vendors solicitors to arrange for this to be removed by providing evidence to the land registry, but there is no tax liability outstanding.

Thank you. There is tax outstanding but they want to use the property proceeds to settle.

I don’t know if the Inland Revenue would remove the charge beforehand (in anticipation of sale, and tax payment) or commit to it being removed on completion and with payment.
