Hi, I just wanted to check if other people have had problems ordering sealed and certified copies of GOP and Will using the PA1S form. Despite specifically requesting sealed and certified copies, I have received only sealed copies. Given it has taken months for these copies to come through, I was hoping somebody may know a quicker way around this than sending in a new form and potentially receiving more incorrect copies.

This happened to me recently when I had ordered one sealed and certified copy Grant, in addition to several sealed copies. The sealed and certified copy did not arrive with the sealed Grants. Rather than applying again, I wrote to the Probate Manager at the Registry concerned and pointed out that I had not received the sealed and certified copy Grant. I received an email in reply, apologising and saying that the sealed and certified copy would be posted to me that day. I received it a few days later.
I think that one of the reasons for the delay in issuing sealed and certified copies is that the certification has to be signed by the registrar at the particular Registry. Most registrars are now registrar to a few Registries, so are not always available at a Registry when a Grant needs to be certified. Even In the efficient “old system”, sealed and certified copy Grants always arrived a week or so after the ordinary sealed Grant(s) arrived.
