Probate received in under 10 days after extensive delays from hmrc in getting code !!!
We’ll have to change what we advise clients to “probably somewhere between 10 days and 6 months”.

With simple applications they do seem to have finally got back to where they were before they started tinkering with everything about 7-8 years ago. Wish I could say the same for paper applications and anything remotely complex.

This was a paper application
Only complication was a lot of PETs
property & investments straightforward
We have had some where I have had an email from HMCTS to confirm they received posted documents and a few hours later had an email confirming probate issued.
These are all simple no IHT payable estates.
