Problem with HMRC telephone helpline

Good morning, is anyone else experiencing difficulty getting through to HMRC on their helpline? I have tried on multiple occasions this week to contact them but after the initial automated message the line simply cuts to silence, rather than the usual “hold music”. If I stay on the silent line I then get cut off after around 20 minutes.

Yes, it has taken three attempts to call and then an hour and 15 minutes wait. Make sure you have a brew and a biscuit handy
