Rectification of an LPOA

I suspect I already know the answer to this, but would be interested in any other views.

I prepared a PFA and HW LPoA for a client. They have been registered with the OPG. Only now has it been identified that one of the Attorney’s DoB is incorrect - it is only on one of the LPoAs.

Do I have to revoke the old LPoA and re-submit a new one to recitfy the issue, or is there an alternative? Does anyone have any experince of something similiar?

Many thanks.

You will need to register a new LPA and then revoke the old incorrect one once it is registered unfortunately, just as you thought.

I’d be interested in hearing if anyone has come across a situation where the date of birth of the attorney was found to be incorrect and as a result the attorney was not able to act. I suppose it is more likely to be picked up where a bank becomes involved.

We had this and I had to prepare a new LPA
