RNRB & grandchildren

Hi all

I have a client with a taxable estate. He wishes to leave his main residence to his grandchildren all of whom are presently minors. He wants them to have access to capital at 25.

Would leaving the property in an IIP Trust up until 25 secure the RNRB?

I have read some commentary suggesting this works provided s31 Trustee Act is excluded.

Thoughts welcome please.

Yes. Grandchildren are “lineal descendants” and an IPDI works provided s31 is excluded
