Hello All
I am hoping there might be someone who has experience of handling a similar issue that can offer some assistance.
In a nutshell, I am dealing with an estate that has a property in Spain. However, the property is completely uninhabitable - there is no roof on part of the property, walls have fallen down, no utilities. I understand the deceased tried to have these issues fixed during his life but the property is down a remote track and it seemed impossible to get machinery down to it. On all accounts, its been left to rot.
My issue is - naturally the value for the property is very low, but even with a low value it will not attract a buyer. It is highly likely it will cost more to sell the property then the money made, based on quotes I have obtained. The beneficiaries are not interested in it and all are in agreeance to simply leave it. The executor (also one of the beneficiaries) is of the same view but understands we cannot just do nothing.
That being said - what can we do? I am aware of the process to sell in Spain, but I wondered if we have any other options? Can the estate give up the right to it?
Thanks in advanceā¦
