TRS discrepancy reporting letter

We have received a couple of letters this week from the HMRC discrepancy reporting team - one advising that they think a trust has not been registered and the other advising they think a trust’s details are not up to date. Unhelpfully, they do not state which trusts they are referring to and our trustee company (a law firm) are trustees for literally hundreds of trusts. I have spoken to HMRC on the phone who refused to provide me with any information and have advised that we must respond to the letter - which we have done, basically saying we have no idea who this relates to, please give us more information. Really not helpful. Just wondering if anyone else has received such a letter? Thanks.

I infer from the first case that HMRC have begun the exercise of checking that trusts that have filed tax returns in recent years are on their Reg 45 register.
